FALSE ALARM!!!!

Okay, so I may have jumped the gun. Badger did not get skunked. The skunk must have missed all of the animals, because the smell went away. So, Badger, my alpha male, did not need a douche. Yup, that was the sage advice from my vet assistant (tech, whatever they are called . . . they are my go-to people concerning animals) friends. Guess it neutralizes the odor! LOL

So I went hunting for information in regards to the whole "skunk issue". If you missed it, my friend Bridgette and I were discussing on Tuesday about all the dead skunks on RT 21. There were more than 3 in the past several days that had been killed on the stretch of highway leading into town. (note, this was BEFORE my skunk incident) We just couldn't figure out why so many skunks were around, generally. We asked several people if they knew if skunks hibernated or not and no one knew. (I was thinking, that maybe the 70 degree weather last week might have "awaken them from their deep winter slumber) So, I looked it up on the internet. They are temporarily dormant in extremely cold weather, but they don't hibernate. So much for that theory. After just a few short moments though, I did find the info that I was looking for . . . it is mating season from February-April for skunks. Guess he was out looking for a sweetie to snuggle up with and well, Badger was not of the correct color scheme.
