TBM STILL ON THE RUN + DEAD ANIMAL COUNT

Don't know what has happened to him. Can't imagine where he could have gone, other than the river. He must have gotten away. That's okay though, they still have his 3 buddies in North Central Regional Jail and I would bet that one of them will at least give his name in exchange for some kind of plea deal. Or maybe not. I suppose he will find his way back to Detroit eventually. One other thing that I didn't think of was we have two truck stops in Mineral Wells, located close to where they had wrecked. Maybe a 2 mile walk through the woods to them. Of course, I would have thought that our police officers would have thought of that already . . . me, I am just your average citizen and didn't think of that until today.

OMG. There was a deer that was hit on RT 21 and it looked like, uh, mincemeat. It hadn't started smelling yet, but all the same, I almost puked. That goodness someone cleaned it up pronto, on a Sunday of all things. Don't know if was the state guys or just a good citizen. Whoever cleaned it off the road, a BIG THANK YOU.

Possum and groundhog counts are starting to go up. What's disgusting about the groundhogs, is that there are such sturdy critters, that they usually just get knocked off to the side of the road, no blood and guts. But then, a couple of days later, they swell up and all you can see is swollen groundhog. UGH. Bunny ear count is up to 3. OH and I have seen 4 coons killed along the road. The WV DNR has limited coon hunting to Oct 15-Feb 28, with a daily limit of 4, but they seem to be more proliferative than they have in recent years that I can remember and the limited season may be the reason. I just don't like them because they have the potential to carry rabies and although we haven't had any reported cases here in Wood County, with the increased population, it could become a threat. All my dogs' shots are up to date, but I think all three of the cats need theirs. Of course, if a coon gets ahold of one of the cats, the coon will more than likely kill the cat.

Turtle count, 6. Since it was drizzling this morning, they were all over the place. I dodged 6 of them (not dead turtles, LOL). When we returned from town, Charleigh-Anne and I walked up to the mailbox (well, I trudged, she sat on my hip) and we stopped to look at the raspberries (well, okay, I did) and there was a turtle sitting right on the edge of the lawn. So, Charleigh-Anne has pet her first turtle. She was not real impressed, but, she likes animals that get excited . . . like our fox terrors. (no misspelling here) She is about as determined as they are, when it comes getting in the computer desk doors, entertainment center doors, cords (not electrical outlets, just the cords, for some reason she likes cords) and getting to and from what she wants, like Link, the cat. Anyhow, I hope turtle doesn't eat all the raspberries . . . .

After physical therapy today, they changed me to only twice weekly, because of my overall improvement. That's a load off of my schedule, plus, it makes it easier on Mom. We have been juggling her work and my p/t for 6 weeks or better, so, things should get a little less hectic. Well, other than keeping Charleigh-Anne out of everything. LOL

Local News Update

After the devasting fire in Elizabeth (see previous posts), sadly, the proprietor of Roberts General Store died a few short days later. He had been in a nursing home, but what a double-whammy for the family.
