THE LOST LIMESTONE HAS BEEN FOUND!

Well, most of it anyway. How NO ONE can remember moving all those rocks across the road to the concrete pad where the shed used to be, I will never know. As I was mowing over there the day before yesterday, I looked over and there was a pile of limestone! So, now I can get the smaller ones loaded onto the 4-wheeler and moved back across the road. The larger ones, I will need help with but I am so looking forward to getting some of my stuff moved and my flower beds worked on. Mom is off Friday and is taking vacation next week to help w/my move. LOL Do you think she is wanting me out of her house!?! LOL She isn't really, she would miss C-A too much. Back to the limestone, I was so happy, I could've cried.

I am also not really "moving" for awhile yet. I am going to take it gradually, little steps so as not to traumatize Charleigh-Anne. Mom's home is the only home that she has ever known and Brenda put it like this . . . there is going to be a divorce and one parent is living down the road from the other and we are going to be friendly, not fighting. LMAO It's a divorce styled after Melissa Gilberts' parents, where one parent lives next door to the other. Another positive is that as I am moving things into my house, I can baby-proof as I move. Not just move things "higher up". So, I have a lot of things to look forward to in the next few weeks.

Looks like war over in the Gaza Strip between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Charleigh-Anne is turning into a weather freak. Right now, she is intently watching Patrick Newton on WTAP, do the weather. Hope she doesn't develop weather phobia, like her Mom.

Some thankfulness that the subway accident in Chicago was not terrorism and that there was no body count as there is in India, where they suffered 6 bombings on their subway system in the former city of Bombay, where it is one of the most highly used transit systems in the world. Blame is being placed on Pakistan, just short of direct accusations.

And for the good news of the day . . . well, for yesterday, technically.

I frequently use the hotel and restaurant parking lots as a measure of our economy nationally. We have a Cracker Barrel in Mineral Wells, along with the Comfort Suites and 3 or 4 other hotels. If anyone is going to cut back on spending, it is the AARP crowd, who frequent the restaurant in Mineral Wells on their travels. Mineral Wells is located along the Interstate, so, most of the crowded lots are out of towners. Okay, I know, I know, not a good barometer of the economy but its my take. Most people haven't curtailed travel by vehicle and at 3PM yesterday, the Cracker Barrel parking lot was mostly full. Gas is at $3.09 for regular in Mineral Wells yesterday (today is low price gas day, they may be a little lower today) and the gas stations were just as busy as any other Tuesday afternoon. So, the Prez comes out with a speech yesterday about the improving economy. On Sunday, the New York Times headlines declared, "Surprising Jump in Tax Revenues Is Curbing Deficit" only to turn around and on the op-ed page, an unsigned op-ed was published saying that it was just Bush Administration "smoke and mirrors". Um, okay. So this paper goes from publishing a headline story of good news about the Bush administration to allowing Bush-bashing just a few days later. They must not have liked the jump in Bush's numbers after the release of the news (not that I actually have numbers to publish).

You would think it was bad enough that they regularly publish secrets pertainent to National Security with the cover of publishing a "good story". Don't get me wrong, without free speech, I wouldn't be allowed to say all the shit that I like to here online. But at the risk of our security, no, it is not a "good story" and I think that newspapers (ehhm, the New York Times) need to rein in their rougue reporters and fire editors that allow stories such as these to get through to the ink and paper part of publishing.
