RANDOM THOUGHTS . . . .

Today would have been my Dad's 62nd birthday . . . yup, he was born ON D-Day. Not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd anniversary, he was born on THE Day of the Invasion of the Normandy Coast and the freeing of France from Nazi Germany. No French surrender jokes today.

Well, thanks to my new friend Dan, I have added Mind of Mencia to my list of shows to watch. I was hooked on the first 3 minutes. It was about the "re-building" of New Orleans. OMG, I haven't laughed that hard since Boston Legal's 3rd to last episode this season. Thanks Dan for the recommendation or whatever you want to call it . . . subliminal suggestion . . . LOL

This illegal alien thing really has me thinking now, mostly about the plight of those who are sent back after being here for over twenty years or so. I am not quite sure how an illegal can own a trucking company and his entire family have citizenship status, while he is an illegal and he can live here for 34 years, but that was his side of the story. He got a DUI and they sent him back to Hondoras or Guatumala one, I don't remember which one and he plans on getting money wired to him from his family in California and working his way back across Mexico and sneaking back in to the US and reuniting with his family. Of course, he has no home or family to return to in his home country, so, in his position, I probably would do the same. I guess I have a lot more thinking to do on this subject. . . different aspects that I haven't yet considered. Since it is not an issue for me, other than the incidents where they have been acting like "travellers", stealing payroll checks and attempting to cash them in our area, coming up from Louisville, which is really quite a trip, I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. The new homes in our area are built by local contractors who hire local boys to work for them. I know most of the major contractors and their employees personally, so I know for a fact that they hire "legals". (although, with a population base as small as our area, it is not hard to know most of the contractors)

Speaking of our area, seems we have made the bottom of the list again. We are not one of the "smart" states . . . as if we needed some sort of survey to tell us this. Also, our area, made the News of the Weird, with one of our country deputies shooting himself in the foot, earlier this spring. What was left out was the county deputy whose gun accidently discharged and the bullet went through his leg, while traveling to New Orleans to help with Hurricane Katrina in the chaos that ensued following many NO police officers abandoning their positions, late last summer. Yup, that's TWO of our deputies that shot themselves, with Deputy Hamric, in charge of gun safety. Hmmm.

Well, now it's time for "Rescue Me", just when you think it can't get anymore interesting, the first episode of the season, had much to reveal, so I must watch it. Anyone who talks to the dead has got my attention, especially in the way that this show is presented. Deranged, but funny.

OMG I saw that guy on one of the news networks. Yeah right... everyone he knows is here legally. Uh huh. I don't believe it. Not for a minute. It's all smoke and mirrors and I'm sorry, while I do believe that he's been here for a long time, I don't believe for a moment he has a "legal" trucking business. If he was here that long...why the fuck didn't get amnesty the last time it was offered during the Reagan years?????????

He said his family lives in California, well to have a trucking business in California there are so many hoops you have to go through it's not funny. I'm sure someone there is looking into this "story".

Do they even bother to check the stories to see if there is a shred of truth to them? I don't think they do.

If someone is going to break our laws for 34 years really deserve to be one of its citizens?
