LAME PLAME

In our lawsuit-happy nation, Valerie Plame and her husband, Joe Wilson, have decided to sue Scooter Libby, Dick Cheney and the reporter, Robert Novak, who wrote the article "outing" her from job as a CIA operative (undercover) [although, she was said to have be "outed" several years earlier by a counter-agent]. Valerie said that they are filing the suit with "heavy hearts". Yeah, right.

The allegations state that the above three named defendants, along with 10 other un-named administration officials put Wilson, Plame and their children's lives at risk by "exposing" Plame. Then, their lawyer stated the lawsuit "concerns the intentional and malicious exposure by senior officials of the federal government of ... (Plame), whose job it was to gather intelligence to make the nation safer and who risked her life for her country." Sounds to me like her career choices put at risk her family and herself without an "outing". Her choice of jobs put her children's lives at risk on a daily basis. There is no insurance when you work for the CIA that the "enemy" won't find out who you are, what you are doing and where your family lives.

I have been having an "off" weekend . . . had Joey home for awhile before returning him to camp out in the big wilds of Wirt County. Was waiting on the "tenants" to finish removing their belongings, including their animals and then BAM!!! The freaking heat SOARS so that I don't want to even move my body, let alone belongings. Couldn't really get excited about my Lame Plame story because of all the Middle East tensions worrying me, not that I have relatives or friends in the area, its just when there is unrest for some reason or another or natural disasters I turn into a sorta hypocondriac of world conditions, not enviromentally, but just generally, so it's only a half-hearted attack on Plame, whom I was really wanting to slam against the wall on Thursday or Friday, whenever the story broke about the suit.

I did watch a touching, sadly, humorous movie that I had seen a couple of times at the local movie gallery and finally rented it. It's called "Off the Map" and the biggest reason for my renting it was that it included Sam Elliott (I've thought he was a hottie since I was probably around 15 and still do). He doesn't even speak until after the first 1/2 or 3/4 of an hour and speaks little after that but his perfomance is excellent and the movie is pretty good. I think it was an independant so that is why I have never heard of it but one of the producers was Campbell Scott and Amy Brennaman plays the girl as an adult and narrates that movie.

We are going to Ohio next week for a day. LOL Of course, I go to Ohio to get my hair done. LOL But we are going up to Clinton, which is close to Akron, to visit family we haven't seen in almost a year. Should be lots of fun, although Joey is bummed that he doesn't get to go. Sorry kiddo.

I was watching an epidsode of the Simpsons tonight and was reminded of our friend Dan. The episode was titled "The Stong Arms of the Ma". Marge gets mugged, then subsequently is afraid to leave the basement of their home. So, the whole family moves down there and after the rest of the family leaves for the day Marge has nothing to do. UNTIL, she sees Homer's weight set. Within two weeks, she had DOUBLED her benching weight and had six-pack abs. LMAO Too bad the real world doesn't work like that, right Dan? We wouldn't want you to take Marge's path past that point though. She got into the 'roids and at one point tore the shit out of Moe's and raped Homer. LMAO Just take it slow and easy Dan . . . we will wait on those 6-pack abs.
