CRANE SPOTTING
While Joey and I were coming home from our trip into town today, we saw a strange sight. As we rounded a curve in the road where the creek abuts the highway, we saw a crane of some sort in the creek. I can only recall one other time that I have seen one and it was while on a boat on the Little Kanawha River. After doing a little research, I think that it may have been a "Little Blue Heron". Very unusual for us to see it where it was located. The above was written last night, I forgot to put it in my post yesterday and was too tired to publish last night. LOL
Anyhow, I have the porch almost completely cleaned off . . . started unpacking boxes and doing the tedious work of wiping EVERYTHING off that was in the basement. A lot of my things are really musty and mildewed! BLECH!!! I am detail cleaning just about everything, so it is a slow process. It is also very humid so I take frequent breaks and sit under the ceiling fan in the living room. Even then, you can feel the dampness in the recliner. It's just nasty outside and inside both right now. I have the dehumidifer running all the time and empty it at least twice a day but that is in the basement. I am thinking I might need one upstairs as well.
I have decided that I am going to start some of my perennial seeds and plant them in September so that they will be well rooted for the winter and will come back up in the spring. As long as I don't mistake them for weeds, we'll do okay! LOL
Tomorrow its physical therapy in the AM and then if it doesn't rain, I am going to take pix of the house to post. Don't expect too much right now . . . I don't even have all that much furniture that I have moved yet. Charleigh-Anne's crib is in the living room, I don't have the entertainment center upstairs yet and I have just started hanging things back up on the wall.

The big birds are always good to see while out and about. We have a place called Middle Creek - I have pictures in my PA places section - and they are a stop off on the migration routes - yeah, it's primarily for hunters, but there are still excellent birds to view in the off season.
Have a great weekend.
I am starting a new site on cast iron pots, how to use them and take care of them. Please visit when you have time. I only have a few articles in place but am writting articles to add to the site.
