WAL-MART RANT AND GREGORY PECK

Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart really pisses me off. Don't get me wrong, I love their low prices and friendly service and all (LMAO) but it irrates the shit out of me when I go there and they are out of everything that I want or need. This doesn't happen occasionally but ALL THE TIME anymore. It's like they are having some serious inventory problems. I was vaguely aware of this last year when I went through the formula debacle with them. I needed the Lacto-Free Ready to feed. I needed 12 cans of it. They only had 10. I finally find the woman "in-charge" of the baby items and she has her handy dandy little computer thingie and says to me, "Well, this says we have 15. Let me go look in the back." Well, they didn't and she was like "That's strange". Um, not if you have shoplifters. She assures me that she will order some and it will be there in a few days, so check back. Well, it's no short trip to Wally World but on subsequent trips, there were no more cans and I ended up in an "exclusive" deal with IGA. It works like this . . . they keep in stock what formula I need, I buy my formula there. So take that Wal-Mart! Again, I digress. I have frequently ran into this problem on weekends but have had it happen more and more during the week. No Family Size Wheat Thins. No Sunflower Seeds. No DIET FREAKING COKE in any way shape or form. (which I know is an issue with Coke, not Wal-Mart) No specific air freshener that I want. No bowls for Charleigh-Anne's cereal. No Baby water. (yes, they really sell this and this is what I had to resort to buying due to the formula debacle . . . I could only get the concentrate at the IGA in the Lacto-Free, so being my stubborn self, I got the concentrate at the IGA instead of driving to Kroger on 7th St. to get the Ready to Feed.) Then, just when you think it really can't get much worse, they MOVE everything . . . .

Gregory Peck

It must be his birthday or something. I have seen five different movies on either Turner Movie Classics or Fox Movie Channel with him in them today. As a salute, I am including this picture of him from "To Kill A Mockingbird" which one him an Oscar and which also appeared Robert Duvall (as Boo Radley) in his first on screen roll if I recall correctly. You may note, those of you who receive emails from me that I have changed my cat pissing on your keyboard quote to one from this movie. Ahh, I am wrong. It is not his birthday, he was born on April 4th of 1916. He just died a few years ago in 2003. TKAM is my favorite book and movie and his portrayal of Atticus Finch was a classic. Don't know why it is Gregory Peck day in the movie world but here's to you . . .
