SO, NOW YA'LL HAVE SEEN THE BI-POLAR IN ME . . .

Yes, there is a dark, different side to me. I can go off and vent in all different directions sometimes and although I could delete the whole thing, it is part of me, so I will leave it.

Back to our life in WV,as most of you know, Doctor appointments dominant our lives here in WV. Joey and I both had one on December 23rd. Only in West Virginia can you walk out of your Doctor's office and see cows grazing 10ft from the end of the parking lot . . . and pasture land, the entire length of the parking lot, which is a sizable lot. This is a clinic, mind you, not just one doctor. I would say 50 spaces. Then on the drive home, coming through Slate on Rt. 14, I had to warn him to not hit the chicken that was pecking alongside the road. It really was small and was blending in with the gravel, weeds and the slip and the thing WAS practically on the road.

This picture was taken on December 22nd. This in our glass storm door which frosted into this pretty pattern after two days of single digit temperatures. The leafs are crafts that Punkin and I made from pressed leafs with crayon shavings between two pieces of wax paper warmed with an iron. Its supposed to "look" like stained glass.

Then I had a Doctor's appointment the day after Christmas and then one on Monday, the 29th. On the 29th, my neurologist was sick and they said that I could see the nurse practioner, which wouldn't be so bad but for the fact that I have yet to see him at all, since he didnkt made my other appointment either. So it's rescheduled for the 5th of January and Punkin has one on the 6th.

~~~~~~~****WVU Spine Center has received my films (right before Christmas) and reviewed them and they have reached some kind of decision. However, it was too late by the time I received the message and I called back today as they closed early for New Year's Eve. I should hear something from them on Friday. Prayers and good thoughts please, I need all that I can get right now.***
WV being the bureacratic nightmare of the state that it is and me having a social worker that must have had remedial help in graduating from college in order to obtain a degree in social work, I lost my medical card on January 1st.
I went this morning to get a slip showing coverage, since I was supposed to have coverage, and she printed out a slip that said that I had coverage from 01/01/08-01/31/08 effective January 02, 1980. Hmm. I have complained to everyone that my worker didn't know her ass from a hole in the ground but now, I have proof. She asked for the copy that she gave me back when I stop on Monday to pick up my new slip before going to my neurologist. appointment (they have to have proof of insurance before seeing me, obviously) but you better believe that I WILL make a copy of this shit before I drop it off.
This may work out for the best however.
I had a change in my medical coverage, it was cancelled for one day and then reinstated and because of that, my HMO is not attached to my Medical Card for the month of January; my HMO won't go back on my card until February. My neurologist in Parkersburg, WILL do surgery on me if I DO NOT have an HMO and only have the Medical Card. I happened to cancel my appt on the 29th because he was sick and rescheduled for January 5th. He was going to give me a referral to someone who would do my surgery. I was already working with WVU, sent my films and they had called today to let me know they wanted to do a CT and get me up there to see their doctor at his clinic. Anyway, to make an even longer story short, I may be able to have my surgery here in Parkersburg rather than in Morgantown. HK, (my neuro) trained at WVU and is one of the best neuros around. I would much rather have it done here at home than to be so far away from my family. I wouldn't want Mom and Punkin and Joey to have to drive so far to see me or for me to be alone up there. I will know more on Monday, but it looks pretty positive. I talked to his nurse and billing people today and they said to tell him what I had told them and he would get me on the schedule.
I will still keep my contacts and appts with Morgantown though, because I will still need something done with the problems in the lumbar area of my spine and they also do pain management on a monthly basis.
