I REALLY AM TRYING TO BLOG REGULARLY . . .

It will be interesting to find out in the coming weeks whether or not John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son Jeff was receiving medication for his Kawasaki disease which may have caused the seizure which lead to him falling in a bathtub and causing a head injury resulting in his death. If you are unaware of it, the Travolta-Prestons are Scientologists., who believe in detoxification as the correct treatment for illnesses, including diabetes, epilepsy, cancer among other treatable diseases; you might remeber the Tom Cruise/Brooke Shields debacle when he slammed her for taking anti-depressants for post-partum depression.
In a lot of other highly publicized cases, lesser known, unfamous people with no stardom to allow them free passes regarding their child's health care have been prosected for not treating their children illnesses. We'll see what happens . . .

It sure is true that the elderly sure do get a tad more confused in the winter. Kim's grandad, I would never take away that he really is sharp as a tack; he knows all thats going on; he still puts wood in the little stove if no one is inside and he thinks it needs it (which is if the temperature in the room he sits in drops below 88 degrees, LOL), he'll put the dog out, he can fix his own drinks and get snacks out of the snack drawer, THAT's an easy one for him. But he worries and worries and worries. If it's not Kim, it's Shannon, if its not Shannon, it's me and if it's not me, it's Punkin. If it's not Punk, it's Shannon's friend Kyle.
Kim was right outside the door last night, using a little garden tractor on the back of his little lawn mower to put gravel in the drive and up to the walk and Kenneth was worried about him being outside. Of course, I think that when he quits worrying, he'll probably go. So, as we have all said, he will probably outlive us all and he is 95.

If we could just get him to hear and see better, it would be much easier to communicate with him. We are taking him to the doctor Thursday, for the first time, so hopefully, the communication with his health care will be a little smoother. Kim' sister-in-law took him last fall and we never really did get the full story; I had to dig for info from Kim and Stephanie to find out what was going on. I have a hard enough time understand my own health care hearing it first hand, let alone hearing it second hand and third hand. The nurse hasn't been out all week either now that I think about it to check his vitals . . . .
Kim's nephew has moved in his old bedroom upstairs and we moved the bed into the living room becasue he would come upstairs in the middle of the night worrying about the wood furnance when it was 50 degrees outside. He had two falls and well, we just had to move Kim's bed downstairs where Kenneth's bed is located on the groudn floor. Shannon's girlfriend stays out here too sometimes and she has been helping and well, it is starting to ease some of the stress on me and Kim. Especially Kim because I can get away from the responsiblity of caring for him sometimes. Of course, then I am usually taking care of Punkin but, she doesn't worry me nearly as much.

He is the most kind and loving person that I know. That's why I am here. He seems to not do as well when I am not here to reassure him. Well, off to get the Sunday paper, read it and go to pick up Punkin to spend the afternoon.
