SINCE MY MAJOR IS BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

I could not go without a note about one of the most innovative businessmen in the United States. I am not talking about the guys who build pulishing industries or computer corporations and then with "teams" create new products or turn the organizations into comglomerates. No, I am talking about Bill France Jr. who took NASCAR from a southern redneck, dirt-track racing (or I suppose you can't dismiss the original "Daytona Race"-- which those of you who may be unfamiliar with the sport, actually took place on the beach!) to the nationwide sport that it is, boasting racetracks from East Coast to West Coast and from Michigan to Daytona International Speedway, which he literally helped to build from the ground up to the colossal monument to racing that it is today.

Here is a link to the story from Fox News with links there to video:

I found out about his death during the finish of the race at Dover, which had been rained out on Sunday. . . . may I add that they also lowered the flag to half-staff, during the last 1/3 of the race, after the news was released.

Farewell Bill and Mike Helton is certainly no Bill France Jr.

That was really sad about Bill, but at least Martin Truex winning is good news.
